Keira Grace Lauzardo Fund for Children’s Cancer: Hope Across Borders
GA: support UFCC program including focus on development of programs to improve treatment outcomes for children with cancer in LDCs through partnership with existing pediatric oncology programs; goals: to provide education to medical practitioners, nurses & allied health professional & health policy makers, training of UF medical students, residents & allied health professionals & research.
This fund was established in 2004 by Eileen and Michael Lauzardo in memory of their daughter Keira to support the University of Florida Cancer Center program including a focus on the development of programs to improve treatment outcomes for children with cancer in LDCs through partnerships with existing pediatric oncology programs.
Keira Grace Lauzardo passed away from leukemia on January 8, 2004 at the age of one. Michael Lauzardo, president and co-founder of the Keira Grace Foundation is chief of the Division of Mycobacteriology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Eileen Lauzardo, treasurer and co-founder of the Keira Grace Foundation practices Family Practice Medicine at the Clay County Health Department in Orange Park, FL.
