This fund was established by Joelen and Robert Merkel in 2004 for the purpose of supporting teaching, research and programs in the Fisher School of Accounting in the Warrington College of Business.

Joelen earned her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1973. She is a member of the UF Board of Trustees.

Robert earned his bachelor’s degree with honors in 1972 and his law degree in 1974 from UF. As a student, Robert was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and Florida Blue Key.
