This fund was established in 2004 by Mary A. Mertz in memory of her daughter, Gina Babicz, to support academic programs in the Fisher School of Accounting in the Warrington College of Business.

Gina was born July 29, 1975 in Steubenville, OH. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1996 and a master’s in 1998, both from the University of Florida. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Gina was a Senior Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte and Touche Accounting Firm in Tampa. She passed away November 25, 2001 at the age of 26. The Gina Babicz Memorial Terrace in the Warrington College of Business was named in her honor.
