Iva and Norman Tuckett Scholarship/Fellowship Fund

Fund Purpose
Support scholarships/fellowships to students in College of Engineering.

The Tucketts established this fund in 1997 to promote the careers of engineering students at the University of Florida. Norman attended UF in the late 1940s, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1950. He went on to receive a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina in 1953. Norman spent 36 years as a sanitary engineer and a director of sanitary engineering at the Broward County Health Department. He was primarily responsible for regulating public water supplies. As a profound coordinator and planner with a strong work ethic, Norman held multiple leadership positions in the Florida Engineering Society, the American Water Works Association, the Water Pollution Control Association and the American Public Health Association.

Norman was also very active in his community. He attended All Saints Episcopal Church and was a member of the West Broward Plantation Kiwanis Club. He passed away on July 7, 2001, three years after the passing of Iv
