Burnett Family Endowment Scholarship
Fund Purpose
GA: support need based scholarships to entering freshmen at UF who have graduated from a Florida high school. A minimum of a $500 scholarship will be awarded. When the endowment principal fund is generating sufficient spendable income to support these awards, the amount of each award may be increased as appropriate. If in the best judgment of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, all or part of the Gift cannot be used in the manner described in this Agreement, the Board may use the Gift for other purposes as nearly aligned to the Donor's original intent, after consulting with the Donor, if possible, as the Board deems appropriate under the circumstances.

Mary Ellen Burnett established this scholarship in 2003 as a loving memorial to her father, George H. Burnett. Mr. Burnett launched and headed a water company which sold bottled drinking water and purified or distilled water to individuals with health problems. Centering his business in Zephyrhills, he designed the industry before water softeners were common. Burnett sold the business, and it later became Zephyrhills Water Compan
