Daniel J. Koleos Scholarship Fund
GA: support merit scholarship or fellowship awards to undergraduate or graduate students in Dept of History.
This fund was created by Daniel and Deborah Koleos in May 2003. A native of West Palm Beach, Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Florida in 1978. He continued his studies at Stetson University, where he received his juris doctor in 1985.
Dan spent 13 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, becoming one of 10 officers specially selected to attend law school under a fully funded federal program. Before beginning his private practice in 1991, Dan worked as a prosecutor and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of South Carolina. He practices law in a number of areas and is a member of the bars of the State of Florida, United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, United States Court of Military Appeals, United States District Court (in parts of Florida), the American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Law Section, Defense Research Institute and Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
Deborah, who is also a 1978 graduate of UF, earned a bachelor’s degree in business education. The couple reside in Plantation, FL with their children Kayla, Kelly, Kimberly and Kyl
