Conrad and Patricia Demro
Friends, family and colleagues created this scholarship to honor Conrad G. Demro, Jr. and his former wife, Patricia Demro Kiester. Conrad was born on March 15, 1924, in Dania, FL. In his younger years he served his neighborhood as a volunteer policeman, fireman and assistant air raid warden. From 1942 to 1946, Conrad served in the U.S. Army, and again in the early 1950s in Korea. He graduated from the University of Florida with high honors in 1948 and after his military service began a career as a certified public accountant. Conrad was a member of many organizations, including Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, Florida Blue Key and Delta Chi. He also served on the Board of Directors of the UF Athletic Association, the UF Foundation and, for a time, as President of the UF Alumni Association. He passed away on March 20, 2003.
Conrad and Patricia had a daughter, Phoebe Marie Burda, and a son, Philip Alan Demro.
