Co-workers and friends of Barbara began contributing to this fund in 2002. Barbara was only 38-years-old when she died, but her selfless spirit and dedication to her work will never be forgotten. Born in Miami in 1963, Barbara received her medical degree from the University of Miami while in her mid-twenties. She went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida. Barbara spent the next 14 years of her life at UF, working in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and teaching as an associate professor. Her colleagues and patients acknowledge that Barbara was more than a devoted professional — she was a friend.
