LTC Samuel W. Anderson Award

Fund Purpose
E-mail: support an award given to a member of the Gator Guard Drill Team who is a Cadet in good standing in an ROTC program at the University, with preference to sophomore and junior students. The recipient will be nominated by the Gator Guard Commander and selected by the Professor of Military Science. If, in any given year, no candidate is eligible, then the spendable income may be used as follows as determined by the fund administrator: (a) support the Gator Guard with expenses such as but not limited to equipment or travel, (b) support the cadets in a ROTC program at the University, or (c) accumulate for up to 2 years.

This fund was created by Patricia Anderson in November 2002 to honor her son, Lieutenant Colonel Samuel W. Anderson. Born in 1952, Anderson attended the University of Florida, earning his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1974 and a master’s degree in educational leadership in 1985. He later went on to serve in the U.S. Arm
