Lawrence M. Goodman Scholarship Fund
Trust: support need-based scholarship awards to students attending UF College of Medicine; award is renewable.
This fund was established by the Honorable Lawrence M. Goodman, who served as a judge in the federal judiciary system in Atlanta, Ga. Goodman was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He earned his juris doctor from American University and practiced administrative law in Florida after leaving Atlanta in 1982. One of the federal cases Goodman saw as a judge involved discrimination in nursing homes. He cited his ruling in this case as one of his most important.
