Lillian Stump Professional Nursing Education Fund
This fund was established by Lillian Stump in 2001 and supports continuing education for nurses working at UF Health Shands facilities.
Stump was born in 1921. She was an army nurse during WWII and was one of the first nurses to go ashore during D-Day. Stump is recognized for her successful fundraising for civic organizations, and served every worthy cause that came her way. She was one of the first women in Florida to be ordained deacon in the First Presbyterian Church.
Stump developed an interest in the American Cancer Society in Bradford County when her father passed away in 1963. Her power to raise money for great causes made her the top choice of civic organizations.
