Lillian established this scholarship through her estate in 2001. She and her husband, Joseph, are remembered as a couple dedicated to education and loyal to their country.
Born on Jan. 28, 1914, Lillian worked, for a time, in private industry and also with the Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Interior Department, the Pentagon and other government departments. After graduating with a law degree during the depression, Joseph found it difficult to find employment, so he decided to return to school, earning both his master’s and Ph.D. in physics. Like his wife, Joseph also worked in private industry and for the Department of Defense. He passed away in 1984, and Lillian passed away in 2002 at the age of 8
