Ivan H. Smith Visiting Professorship in Architecture

Fund Purpose
GA (amended): support visiting professorship in Architecture.

Ivan H. Smith, founding partner in the firm of Reynolds, Smith & Hills Inc., created this endowment supporting a visiting professor in architecture. Notable works for which he had principal responsibility include

• UF’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
• Nuclear and Radiological Engineering Building
• Music and the Arts building
• Jacksonville University’s Council building and dorms
• Florida State Capitol complex in Tallahassee
• The Duval County Court House

During World War II, he was commissioned as a lieutenant junior grade and advanced to lieutenant in the U.S. Naval reserve, serving in Washington and the Southeast Asia theater where he participated in technical air intelligence in the Burma Campaign.
