Peter G. and Anna Felos Greek Studies Fund
GA: support scholarships to UF students who participate in either the College Year in Athens and/or any other recognized summer study program in Greece that concentrates on Greek languages and/or Hellenic civilization.
Anna Felos endowed this scholarship in 2000 as a way to honor the memory of her husband, Pete G. Felos, M.D., and their Greek heritage. Dr. Felos was a medical doctor, who was born in Jacksonville, FL, and as a young child went to Greece for a visit and stayed. His education from the beginning and through medical school was in Athens, Greece. After coming to the United States, he opened his private office in Starke, FL and practice family medicine for over 42 years. He was a very loved and active citizen of the community. Dr. Felos served as Chief-of-Staff at the local hospital, was a member of the Bradford County Medical Society, Florida Medical Society, American Medical Society, a member of the Ahepa and an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Community State Bank of Starke and other civic and charitable organization
