Debbie DeSantis Excellence Fund
GA: support the College of Pharmacy through scholarships, professorships and unrestricted use. Provide at least two full-tuition scholarships on an annual basis to PharmD students during their professional curriculum, support professorships as needed and provide unrestricted support as determined by the Dean.
Debbie DeSantis established this fund in 2000 to support the professional development of pharmacy students at the University of Florida.
DeSantis graduated with honors from the UF College of Pharmacy with a bachelor’s degree in 1982. She began her career as a pharmacist in a chain pharmacy and rose to the positions of chief and district supervisor. She later joined Rexall Sundown, where she became vice president of operations, and in 1997, began work in the product development department. DeSantis’ efforts earned her the position of senior vice president of product development at Rexall Sundown’s parent company, Nutricia USA. Her professional interests are in the field of pharmacognosy, the study of natural product
