Daniel M. and Cheryl W. DuPree Real Estate Scholarship Fund
Support one or two scholarships per year to qualified individuals who have applied to MARE program or MBA Real Estate program.
Daniel M. and Cheryl DuPree are University of Florida alumni. Daniel earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1969 and Cheryl earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences in 1969. Daniel was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and was on the UF baseball team. He was the president and CEO of New Market Development Co. and was the largest developer of strip shopping centers in the nation. He worked with companies such as Home Depot, Toys R Us, Marshalls and Stein Mart. In 1992, DuPree joined Cousins Properties when it acquired the development operations of New Market Development, for which he served as chairman. He served as president of Cousins Properties’ retail division from 1992-95 and in 1995 he was elected president of the real estate investment trust. In 2001, DuPree retired as president and chief operating officer of Cousins Properties and joined Barry Real Estate Companies as CEO. In 2003, he rejoined Cousins as Vice Chairma
