Kay Walker
Kay F. Walker is Professor, Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) at the University of Florida, where she has had a long career in academia. She developed and taught courses in pediatrics, anatomy, neuroscience, and OT theory, served as department chairperson for 16 years and is currently Program Director of the Internet-based Distance Learning Master’s Program and Contract Manager for clinical services for individuals with disabilities in 2 schools and a residential facility. She received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in special education, all from the University of Florida. Her publication, research and presentation topics include anatomy, OT theory, OT education, sensory integration, and early intervention for young children with disabilities. She enjoys fitness, the beach, golf, travel, service missions, book publishing and her family. Her advice to students: work hard, keep your integrity intact, and don’t forget to breathe
