WTVJ/NBC 6 established this scholarship in memory of Rob Pierce, an award-winning news photographer killed in a helicopter crash. While at the University of Florida, Pierce worked at WRUF, WUFT-TV and WCJB-TV. Later he worked at WTLV-TV, Jacksonville, and WPTV-TV, West Palm Beach before joining WTVJ-TV.
