Ruth P. Phillips Sports Medicine Endowment

Longtime UF supporter Ruth Phillips established this fund in 2000 to support teaching, research and programs in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in the College of Medicine.

Phillips was born May 17, 1918. She was a member of the University of Florida Board of Directors from 1994 until 1999 when she began her service as president of the board, which she continued until 2000. Phillips was an avid art collector and founding member of the Harn Museum of Art’s Founder’s Council.

Phillips passed away June 15, 2005, in Jacksonville, FL.
