GA: support lecture series in Engineering for purpose of attracting nationally well-known lecturers for the benefit of the students.
Sandy and Jack Ohanian
Jack and Sandy Ohanian created this fund in 1999 to provide for three nationally or internationally prominent experts per academic year to give College of Engineering lectures in key technical areas to enhance the knowledge-base of engineering faculty and students. The corollary purpose is to expose these experts to the faculty and students of the College.
Jack was a Professor Emeritus of Nuclear and Radiological Engineering and served as interim dean of the UF College of Engineering for two years prior to his retirement. Sandy was a computer programmer/system analyst for the UF Foundation for 15 years.
Jack passed away in October of 2011.
