William M. Potter/M. B. Chafin Endowed Scholarship & Fellowship for students in Health & Human Performance; Preference go students with strong interest in tennis; minimum award of $500.
William “Bill” Potter and Moses B. “M.B.” Chafin are former head coaches of the UF tennis team and longtime members of the HHP faculty. Potter retired from teaching and coaching in 1978. He passed away in July of 2001 at the age of 81. Chafin served in several capacities for the college. Most recently, he served as director of UF’s Recreational Sports Program until 2001. He currently works for the Southern Tennis Academy. Friends, former players and students of Potter and Chafin established this scholarship as a way to honor these two outstanding educator
