John and Fawn Dunkle Fund
Support annual Dunkle Award to most distinguished undergraduate student majoring in Geography; a travel award to graduate student in program; and additional travel aid to doctoral students participating in meetings of AAG.
This fund was established to honor the long time service and devotion of professor and scholar, Dr. John R. Dunkle, to the Department of Geography at the University of Florida.
John served as a weather observer in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He graduated from the University of Florida, the University of California at Los Angeles, and Clark University. He was a professor of geography at the University of Florida for forty-six years and held the rank of Professor Emeritus after he retired.
