David W. Johnston established this scholarship to honor two men who were influential to his development as a landscape architect. Johnston is a 1967 graduate of the UF program and owner/operator of David W. Johnston and Associates, a landscape architecture firm.
Herrick H. Smith taught in the Department of Landscape Architecture from 1966 until his retirement in 1995 as professor emeritus. Smith and his wife still reside in Gainesvill
