This fund was established by the Harold Z. Steinbrenner Family in 1998 to support the Master of Business Administration program in the Warrington College of Business.
The son of George Steinbrenner, who ran the Yankees, and the youngest of four children, Harold Steinbrenner was born December 3, 1968. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Williams College in New England in 1991 and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Florida in 1994.
Harold took over the operation of Steinbrenner Hotel Properties in 1996 as chairman and chief executive officer. In 2007, Harold was named chairman of the company that owns the New York Yankees. He was promoted from executive vice president and treasurer of Yankees Global Enterprises LLC, the holding company for the team and the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network. Harold, the youngest of George Steinbrenner’s children, officially took over the Yankees in 2008 at age 40. For years before, Harold was intimately involved in the day-to-day operations of the Yankees, while his brother Hank handled the media.
