Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Baskin Scholarship Fund

Born in 1896 in Washington D.C., Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1918 and pursued a career in journalism. In 1928, she left New York to live in Cross Creek, Fla., and later in St. Augustine, Fla., where she married businessman Norton S. Baskin. She was the author of such widely read and well-respected books as the 1939 Pulitzer Prize winning novel “The Yearling” and the 1942 nonfiction classic “Cross Creek.”
