Elizabeth and William F. Leonard Endowment Scholarship
As parents, grandparents and UF alumni, the Leonards became concerned about the low number of young adults choosing careers as teachers of mathematics and science in elementary and secondary schools. This concern led them to endow a scholarship fund to encourage prospective teachers to pursue teaching careers in these areas.
William Leonard (JD ’51) was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1990 for his contributions to UF as well as his profession. He served on the UF Foundation Board the Florida Board of Regents. He was a partner in the firm of Leonard and Morrison in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., served on The Florida Bar Board of Governors and had a seat on the 4th District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission.
Elizabeth Leonard graduated from the College of Education in 1950. The Leonards’ three children are also UF graduate
