Myasthenia Gravis Rhodes Trust
This fund was established in 1996 by the Viola S. Rhodes Trust to support research in the cause and cure of myasthenia gravis.
Myasthenia gravis is an auto-immune disease in which antibodies are directed against the acetyl choline receptor on the muscle end-plate of the neuromuscular junction. These antibodies block or degrade the receptor, resulting in failure of neuromuscular transmission and weakness.
