Charles A. and Alma A. Hoffman Scholarship
Alma Hoffman established this scholarship in memory of her husband, Charles A. Hoffman, who received his doctoral degree in education from UF in 1958. When creating the fund, she noted that a $50 loan from a medical doctor helped her husband finish his fourth year at a teachers college in Trenton, N.J. As a result, she wanted to return the favor by financially assisting students so that they could finish their education. Mrs. Hoffman passed away in May 2003.
The Hoffmans had three sons, one who graduated from UF, and one daughte
