This fund was established in 1995 by Occidental Chemical Corporation (OxyChem) to support research in the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences of importance to the chemical industry.
OxyChem is a leading North American manufacturer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins, chlorine, calcium chloride and caustic soda, key building blocks for a variety of indispensable products such as plastics, pharmaceuticals and water treatment chemicals. OxyChem is the largest U.S. merchant marketer of both chlorine and its co-product caustic soda, and the world’s largest producer of caustic potash and calcium chloride. Headquartered in Dallas, TX, the company has manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
