Kenneth F. Finger Memorial Fellowship

Kenneth Finger

Kenneth F. Finger was well known for his leadership on campus and in the Gainesville community. He served as associate vice president of the UF Health Science Center for 20 years and on the Shands Hospital board of directors for 14 years. From 1968-78, he was dean of the College of Pharmacy. Finger also played a pivotal role in many local civic organizations, helping found the Ronald McDonald House and The Hope Lodge for cancer recovery patients as well as serving on the board of directors for the United Way of Alachua County and the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce.

A native of Wisconsin, he obtained all three of his degrees at the University of Wisconsin. He and his wife, Lois, moved to Gainesville in 1968. They had one son, Bill, who is a UF alumnus.

This endowed award was established in 1994 at the time of his death by his wife, colleagues, family members and friends.
