Orthopaedic Alumni Professorship

Fund Purpose
GA: support professorship in Orthopaedics in College of Medicine.

The Orthopaedic Association Inc. created this fund in 1994 to support a professorship in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in the College of Medicine. The University of Florida orthopaedic surgery program began in 1960 as a division of the Department of Surgery. In 1975, the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery achieved full departmental status.

From the beginning, the goals of the UF Orthopaedic Surgery program have been centered on education, patient care and clinical research. Today, the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation continues to build on its reputation of excellence in clinical and basic science research that was established by the department’s first chairman, William F. Enneking, M.D., Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus. With 18 faculty members and providing eight clinical services, the department covers the full spectrum of orthopaedic surgery as well as physical medicine and rehabilitation.
