Alfred and Elizabeth Airth
This fund was established by Alfred T. Airth in 1994 to support an addition to salaries for instructional personnel at the University of Florida.
Airth was born on February 2, 1906. Alfred earned his law degree in 1930 from the University of Florida. He was Suwannee County’s county attorney for more than 20 years, and served the city of Live Oak as city attorney for 26 years. In 1956, he was voted Suwannee County Man of the Year.
Airth retired in 1975 and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Episcopalian Diocese of Florida.
Airth passed away on January 2, 1993. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Rogers Airth. Elizabeth passed away on October 15, 2001.
