Alfred T. Airth General Scholarship Fund

Fund Purpose
GA: support undergraduate merit scholarships graduates of Suwannee HS in top 15% of class; then Branford HS, then these counties Lafayette, Dixie, Madison, Hamilton, Taylor, or Columbia; can renew up to 4 yrs with 3.0 GPA; 2 installments per academic year.

Alfred and Elizabeth Airth

Elizabeth R. Airth provided this scholarship in memory of her husband, Alfred T. Airth, to benefit conscientious students dedicated to academic excellence.

Alfred T. Airth served Suwannee County as county attorney for 20 years and then served the city of Live Oak as city attorney for 26 years. He retired in 1975. Voted Suwannee County Man of the Year in 1956, Airth developed an admirable record of community, civic and religious service to Live Oak and Suwannee County. A 1930 alumnus of UF’s law school, he passed away in 1993.
