Robert O. Stripling Scholarship
In 1990, the American Association for Counselor Education and Supervision recognized Dr. Robert O. Stripling as one of two individuals who had been the greatest influence during the past 50 years (1940-90) in developing counselor education programs at universities throughout the United States.
Stripling joined the UF faculty in 1943 and was a founder and first chairman of the department of personnel services (now the counselor education department). He retired in 1980 as UF Distinguished Service Professor. He lived in Gainesville until his death in 1991.
