Leo Kubiet

In 1968, Leo L. Kubiet began his career with the Times Publishing Co. in St. Petersburg as a retail advertising manager. By 1986, he was named senior vice president of advertising. Kubiet also served as advertising director for the company and was elected to the Times board of directors in 1976.
Kubiet has been active in the field of advertising and his community. He has been honored with the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award and was the first to receive the Better Business Bureau’s Award of Excellence for his commitment to ethics in advertising.
He graduated from Fairmont State College in West Virginia and later attended graduate school in journalism at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, University of Detroit and Wayne State University in Detroit.
