Jim Steiner
Jim Steiner was a finance major and graduating senior at the time he suffered fatal injuries in an auto accident. At the time of his death he had been accepted to law school at UF and aspired to be a tax attorney. He received his degree posthumously with honors in August 1989. Not only did Jim excel in the classroom, he also had a passion for intramural sports and was captain of the UF Lacrosse Club.
William and Sheila Steiner founded the scholarship honoring their son on the experiences Jim had while attending UF. As a condition, juniors and seniors who receive the scholarship are asked to help entering freshmen recipients become better acclimated to university life.
