GA: support scholarships to students attending College of Design, Construction and Planning further criteria include students who are FL residents; preference to students from Orange, Seminole, or Osceola Counties with a min GPA of 2.5.
The Frank W. Reed Scholarship was established in 1971 in honor of Frank Reed, the first treasurer of Central Florida Builders’ Exchange. Reed was one of the 16 original founders of CFBE, which began operations in 1944. He served as treasurer for 34 years until his death in 1978. Reed also served the Central Florida construction industry as a director of the Home Builders’ Association, taught special courses on mortgage at Rollins College in Winter Park and served as executive vice president of Sun Bank. In 1992 this scholarship fund was changed to an endowed status, thanks to contributions from several longtime CFBE member firm
