Philip Graham earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UF in 1936. He pursued his law degree at Harvard Law School where he graduated magna cum laude in 1939. As a student, Graham was president of the Harvard Law Review and later served as law secretary for the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1942, Graham entered the U.S. Army Air Force and served during World War II. After his discharge, he joined The Washington Post as an associate publisher.
Graham was publisher of the Post from 1946 to 1961. He also was the president of The Washington Post Co. from 1947 until his death in 196
