Alice M. Zirger Memorial Scholarship
Fund Purpose
Spendable income will provide a scholarship for an outstanding student who is pursuing either a degree or a certificate in Asian Studies. In either case, the recipient must have completed two years of study of an East Asian language or be enrolled in the second year level of Japanese or Chinese. The Director of Asian Studies will be charged with selection of the scholarship recipient, with the advice and consent of a committee of the Asian Studies Program faculty. In the event no student is awarded the scholarship in a given year, the Zirger family would like the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures to use the income from the endowment to support the greatest needs of Asian Studies, as determined by the Chair. (See letter attached).
