Tybel Spivack Scholarship Fund
Letter: support scholarship to undergraduate or fellowship to graduate student within the Women's Studies Program; preference for student(s) over 40 year old; working with an emphasis in the language area.
Tybel Spivack, a generous contributor to UF, established this endowed scholarship in 1992. Born in 1908, she was awarded a bachelor’s degree with distinction from the University of Michigan in 1930 and earned a master’s degree at UF in 1979. Mrs. Spivack finished her degree requirements six years after her husband, Abraham, passed away. On the basis of her academic achievements at UF, she was selected for membership in Phi Kappa Phi. She was working on her doctoral degree and had completed all but one chapter of her dissertation at UF when she passed away in 1991.
