Frederick E. Fisher Eminent Scholar Chair Fund

Fred Fisher
University of Florida alumnus Frederick E. “Fred” Fisher gave $6.5 million to the school of accounting that now bears his name. Born in 1931 in Illinois, he graduated with honors with his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UF in 1959 and received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from UF in 1990. Fisher was a founder of U.S. Home Corporation, and served as vice chairman and chief financial officer until 1980. An entrepreneur, private investor and philanthropist, Fisher has four children, three of whom are UF graduates.
