W. C. Thomas
This fund established in 1973 honors W.C. Thomas, Sr., and supports a professorship in obstetrics and gynecology. Thomas moved from Georgia and began practicing medicine in 1924 and then was elected chief of staff of the Alachua County Hospital in 1930. He continued his successes and was elected president of the Florida OB/GYN Society. Thomas delivered his last baby of his career on Dec. 14, 1969, after delivering nearly 8,000 in his lifetime.
