Eugene C. Haufler Award

Gainesville native Eugene B. Haufler was a dedicated businessman and president of Haufler Construction Company, Inc. He received numerous awards in the field of agriculture and served on the University of Florida Seed Foundation as a member of the board of directors.

Annette W. Haufler, wife of Eugene, was a former president of the State Agriculture Extension Office Homemaker’s Group. A prominent volunteer in the community, she was a member of Alachua General Hospital Auxiliary, the Tree City Quilter’s Guild, the First Christian Church and CWF, a women’s church group at the First Christian Church. Annette passed away in 1999 and Eugene passed away in 200
