Tubbs Memorial Award Fund

This fund was established by a group of donors in memory of Eugene and Carole Tubbs.
Eugene attended the University of Florida, where he received his undergraduate degree in 1967. He then went on to receive his M.D. from Emory University’s School of Medicine and his law degree from Florida State University.
During his time at UF, he was an intern at Shands Hospital and was also an assistant resident of the Shands staff. Eugene was also a co-founder of Gatorade. He practiced internal medicine and served as a flight surgeon for astronauts for three of the Gemini space flights.
