Chandler Stetson Professorship in Experimental Pathology
Fund Purpose
Letter: support professorship in Dept of Pathology; chair holder will be nationally recognized scientist in field of experimental pathology; tenure will be 10 yrs initially, renewable for 5 yr intervals, until the individual reaches age 65. Renewal of appointments to the chair shall be based upon research productivity and the quality of research contributions during the period, evaluated by an appropriate scientific review group appointed by the chair and the dean.

Chandler Alton Stetson served as a leader in the Department of Pathology at New York University Medical Center and was vice president for health affairs at University of Florida. In 1976, the College of Pharmacy held its own commencement ceremonies in the Medical Sciences Building Auditorium with Stetson, giving the address to the graduates. On the UF campus, Stetson Hall is named for him. He passed away while in office in 1977.
