This endowment supports the University of Florida Center For Latin American Studies. The Latin American Studies program dates from 1930 when it was established as a campus-wide program. Renamed the Center for Latin American Studies in 1963, it is recognized as one of the top-ranked centers internationally. The Center’s mission is to advance knowledge about Latin America and the Caribbean and its people throughout the Hemisphere, and to enhance the scope and quality of research, teaching and outreach in Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies at the University of Florida.
