Robert C. Pittman Eminent Scholar Chair in Electrical Engineering
After serving as a pilot in World War II, Robert C. Pittman attended the University of Florida on the GI Bill. He finished his degree in electrical engineering in less than four years, graduating in 1950. He founded the Superior Cable Company and the National Employee Stock Ownership Association. UF honored him in 1994 with the Distinguished Alumnus Award for his personal and professional achievements. Pittman passed away in 1996.
