Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of relevant experience.
Preferred qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- One to three years of fundraising, development, sales or related experience.
- Prior experience in a university or nonprofit environment, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.
- Demonstrated successful experience in prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation and stewardship.
- Experience organizing, planning, and executing events
- The ability to work strategically, develop and implement constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers.
- Ability to work collaboratively and a team player
- Competency in problem solving.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.

As the state’s only college of veterinary medicine, the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (UF CVM) serves the needs of society by training the next generation of veterinarians, by treating thousands of animal patients and by looking for the cause and cure of diseases that impact both animal and human health. The incumbent will work within the UF College of Veterinary Medicine's Office of Advancement. This office is responsible for major gift fund raising. These gifts support the college in all of its efforts to improve the health and welfare of our animal friends as well as human health. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. The Administrative Assistant serves as the assistant to the Office of Advancement team members. In addition, the incumbent will be required to use a database that is maintained at the UF Foundation. The team members travel extensively; therefore, the incumbent in this position assumes a great deal of responsibility. This position requires a highly responsible and self-motivated individual who is able to take initiative and work independently in varied situations. The incumbent must work in a positive manner with a wide spectrum of personalities and have a very strong work ethic.
