Portfolio Management Build a portfolio of fundraising prospects at the leadership annual gift ($25,000+) and major gift ($100,000+) levels and strategically manage relationships through face-to-face visits. Development Strategy Set and implement strategies for identification, qualification, relationship-building, and solicitation to a close and steward leadership annual gifts and major gift prospects. Administrative Assist the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations with the review of documentation of donations for accuracy and ensure that donors receive proper gift credit, including gift acknowledgements and related stewardship. Communications/Events/Administration Develop and implement communication and engagement plans to keep prospects connected to the college and informed about the vision, mission and values of the unit, its funding priorities, and gift opportunities.
 
Minimum Requirements: This position may be filled with an Assistant or Associate Director of Development, based on the applicant's education and experience. Assistant Director of Development: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience. Associate Director of Development: Master's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience. A valid Florida driver license is required.
 
Preferred qualifications: Three to five years fundraising experience with proven success soliciting gifts of $25,000 and up strongly preferred. Experience in development, alumni affairs, education, public relations, external affairs and/or higher education. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.

Initiatives is responsible for implementing a broad range of fundraising activities in support of University-wide & Academic College initiatives and building a pipeline of parent major gift donors. Reporting to the Director of Parent & Family Giving, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in developing and executing the parent & family giving fundraising program and strategy to fulfill the financial and strategic needs of UF Advancement.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of relevant experience. A valid Florida driver's license is required.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Two - three years of fundraising experience with proven success soliciting to major gifts. The Development Coordinator is responsible for managing annual giving activities and giving-centered events for the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience in St. Augustine, Florida. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, this position will work to expand philanthropic support and development outreach for the Whitney Laboratory to increase overall giving in support of the Whitney?s mission and vision to improve health, train tomorrow?s scientists and the conserve the environment. The Development Coordinator will provide high level development and project management support to the Executive Director of Advancement, representing the office to a diverse constituency. This role will plan, direct and execute several complex and integral programs and initiatives that help foster philanthropy and steward donors within University Initiatives including the Division of Student Life, Parent and Family Programs, the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars (MFOS) program, and specific programs within Academic Affairs, such as the Honors Program, Innovation Academy, and ROTC. The incumbent must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects at a high level of performance, accuracy and speed. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. The incumbent will integrate all activities and initiatives with Advancement organizational goals, culture, mission, vision, and values.
 
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in supporting top level executives, preferably in development, fundraising, alumni relations or higher education. Flexibility and the ability to work well with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside donors and volunteers. Ability to type 35 cwpm; 45 cwpm preferred. Clerical support skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Excellent organizational skills; demonstrated skill to work on projects with competing deadlines and to establish goals and workload priorities.
