The Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education is a new academic unit at the University of Florida whose mission is to promote civic education and civic discourse and to foster intellectual diversity. Its core purpose is to help students develop the knowledge, habits of thought, analytical ability, and character to be citizens and leaders in a free society. It will do so through faculty hiring, curriculum, public programming, and (in conjunction with the Florida Department of Education) teacher training.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience in Development or a related field; or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and five years of experience in Development or a related field. One year of supervisory experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: Three to five years of major gift fundraising experience with documented success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 and above from individual and corporate prospects with campaign experience. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.

The Executive Director of Advancement will be responsible for implementing programs and a broad range of fundraising activities, focused primarily on acquiring major/principal gifts for Palm Beach County. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer of Palm Beach County, this position will be responsible for developing and executing the fundraising program to fulfill the financial needs as identified by UF and UF Advancement (UFA). Additionally, the incumbent will serve as a strategic partner with the unit and Advancement, ensuring conformity with central fundraising efforts and the overall development of alumni programs and goals to promote a culture of philanthropy by broadening constituents' understanding of the value of giving.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and ten years of experience. A valid driver license is required.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: A proven strategic leader with a history of successful higher education program leadership in alumni relations, development, or marketing/communications. Seven to ten years of major gift fundraising experience with documented success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 and above from individual and corporate prospects with campaign experience. The Director of Development & External Relations leads the planning and execution of a comprehensive philanthropic program for the George A. Smathers Libraries in coordination with the Dean of University Libraries. This position reports dually to the Dean of University Libraries and the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Development. The Director of Development & External Relations leads a team of development professionals that work collaboratively with Library deans, chairs, and librarians, as well as colleagues outside of the Libraries to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects for the Smathers Libraries initiatives and strategic priorities. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and providing direction to the work of the advancement team in securing all private support, executing donor stewardship, development of public support groups, fundraising event coordination, and relations between the Libraries, its Library Leadership Board, and Smathers Friends of the Libraries donors, the University of Florida and the UF Advancement. Additionally, the Director of Development & External Relations will attend strategic engagement events in support of Smathers Libraries fundraising goals.

Project Management Work in close collaboration with Advancement SCM leadership to plan, organize and monitor the production of development communications, marketing projects, and events involving clients/project sponsors. Ensure project deliverables are completed on deadline and within budget. Build and maintain positive relationships and act as the liaison between SCM leadership and other Advancement partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates and status and communicate changes to scope, deliverables or deadlines in a timely manner. Office Management Prepare handouts, presentations and other support documents for the Executive Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing. Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for the Executive Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing and editing correspondence to team and affiliated stakeholders and producing minutes and agendas as needed. Project Communications Hold and participate in regular status meetings to inform team and stakeholders of project deliverables updates, and impending deadlines and milestones. Coordinate the expertise and resources of the communications and marketing team to meet the department's strategic objectives. Fiscal Management Manage the development and justification of operating budgets for SCM; manage credit card use, monitor and coordinate annual operating budget preparation and provide periodic reports, to include monitoring monthly budget reports and keeps accurate records to ensure alignment with budget at all times. Manage financial records, prepare disbursement requests for the department and handle invoice payments.
 
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Prior experience in an administrative support role within a development, fundraising, alumni relations or higher education environment. Strong business acumen. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, possess problem-solving capabilities be self-motivated, and work independently. Ability to conceptualize, develop and utilize innovative materials and resources in support of donor relations.
